Sant Nirankari Sr.Sec. School, Pahar Ganj, New Delhi-110055 celebrated Bhasha Sangam or Language Festival with great enthusiasm at the school premises.
The purpose of celebrating Bhasha Sangam in school was to enhance linguistic tolerance, respect and promote National Integration among the students. The Schedule VIII of the Indian Constitution lists 22 languages of the Republic of India. However, most of the students have been quite familiar with only three or four languages. Under Bhasha Sangam celebration, all the students were familiarized with 22 languages.
In order to celebrate Bhasha Sangam in the morning assembly, Date/Day wise Schedule of the Language Festival had been followed from November 20,2019 to December 17, 2019.
All the students and the teachers showed an immense interest and enthusiasm for participating in Bhasha Sangam. Five sentences and commonly used words or sentences related to the language for a particular day had been read out in the morning assembly by the respective teachers and the students. Other students were encouraged to repeat these five sentences. Most of the students actively participated in Bhasha Sangam. In the morning assembly, they presented a role-play, recited poems, sang songs and shared their knowledge about a particular language of the day.
In making Bhasha Sangam celebration even more interesting and purposeful, Smt. Seema Kochhar, the worthy Principal of our school, interacted with all the students in the morning assembly. She presented the motive of celebrating Bhasha Sangam in school. She motivated the students to enhance linguistic tolerance and develop the spirit of National Integration among them. Smt. Roopamjit Bajaj, the In Charge of Cultural Activities of our school, managed the entire celebration of Bhasha Sangam.She encouraged the students to participate in Bhasha Sangam activities in an interesting and joyful manner.
All the esteemed teachers of our school voluntarily selected the respective languages which were to be presented in the morning assembly. The teachers interacted with the students and communicated with them in the language of the day. Students were encouraged to repeat the sentences and commonly used words related to the language.
Students were motivated to share these sentences with each other after the morning assembly as well in an interesting and joyful manner. They were encouraged to interact with their parents and share these sentences with their family and friends. Students of our school prepared display boards based on the theme of Language of the Day.
Students of Classes VI-XII named Tanveer, Parvesh, Abhishek, Rahul, Himanshu, Vinay, Amit Srivastava, Vishal, Yogesh, Kaushal, Shashikant Vikas, Nawaz Alam, Asif, Shaikh Sahil, Md. Kaif, Sameer Alam, Rahul, Shahabuddin, Sourav, Nitin, Md. Fardeen, Aryan, Akash Kumar, Chaman, Sarfe Alam, Manjeet, Vikas and Alok received prizes for their active and joyful participation in Bhasha Sangam celebration.
The most delightful and commendable part of celebrating Bhasha Sangam in our school was that we got an opportunity to experience our students’ interest level and respect towards all the Indian Languages. They also enhanced the spirit of National Integration.
